DJHaamPhist002: filterpanslowdown
Working through the HaamPhist canon. In this one, we listen as the Haam experiments with both filters and panning. Also with tempo perhaps? How does he do that slowdown in the end within Reason? 'Tis a mystery to me.
I like these HaamMinutes, as listening to them is like watching a scientist at play. Methodical exploration combined with an artistic sentiment. Sweet stuff.

It's all true. This was an exploration of the pattern tool at the bottom of the Thor synth panel. The synth has its own tempo control knob on there so I just dialed it down manually during record. This was way before I got into manipulating things in the sequencer. I've only brushed that technique in the last two Minutes. Actually, in your 'broken organ live band' attempt I liked watching you crank up the tempo on the sequencer in the Reason file. There are so many ways to get results, all with their own subtle pros and cons. It's fantastic. I'm afraid to touch that shit because it seems like I'm breaking the laws of music that I don't understand.
whoah, sweet! I'll have to mess around with the Thor... Seriously, that was so mysterious to me. Like.. normally when you slow something down in reason it just spaces out the beginnings of the notes, whereas this really seems to mess with the sample itself or something. Sounds cool anyway.
Man, i really like this minute. I picture a scene from a Hitchcockian thriller where the wife just came to the staggering discovery that her husband is in fact... the killer! and oh boy, she's just going insane with fear.
Anyway... does Thor even use samples? I haven't got Reason installed so i can't check but i thought that Thor was all synthesis. It sounds like it could be granular playback of a sample. But maybe rather a comb filter or a grain delay is responsible for that sound?
Well, i'll have to do some of my own research and soul searching as well it seems. Anyway great stuff!
