you know, the whole minute + jpg thing is quite cool, you got something going on here.

but yeah man, this minute sounds awesome on my speakers.. another fucking sweet bit of music - really like how the bass drum kicks in, i could see this morphing into a 7 minute ice-trance classic.

when i put it in my headphones though, the note that the bass drum is tuned to sort of throws me off, like it kind of puts me in a slight state of confusion, like my mind is trying to find common ground between the bass and the rest and is sort of dangling in limbo.

huh - actually, listening again, it's the synthlike sound that's doing it! huh, this is really interesting dude. seriously, i'm gonna have to experiment with this sort of thing.

did you do this on purpose? like.. did you retune the bass drum at all? it sounds to me like it's either a major 6th below or a major 3rd above the root note that i imagine when hearing the beginning sort of rhythmic melody. that in combination with the synth really creates something strange i think.

Anyway, cool minute dude! Really interesting...

Sparkling fresh yet again, my man! I've noticed you've been very conscientious about your minutes lasting exactly one minute. This by itself is of course commendable yet the fade-out in the end leaves me a bit unsatisfied. Then again, like Jeff said, this easily lends itself for a 7-minute trance romp.

As regards to the tuning of the bass drum, would you perhaps be willing - for the sake of science - to submit to these comments a version where you've tuned the bass a major 3rd down?

Hmm, very interesting! I added a b-side with the kick transposed a major third down. Unfortunately, the kick loses some tone when you transpose it, so to me the result is mainly that the kick flattens out a bit. What do you guys think?
Thanks for listening so intently! I'm learning a lot.

Ah, the difference is much bigger on headphones. Crappy speakers.
The b-side is much better i think.

And Jeff calls me Holmes, haha.

Yeah, it does make a difference doesn't it? The b-side sounds more cohesive and funky; it packs a tighter punch. In my best Transylvanian accent: "vonderful, vonderful indeed, ah ah ah."
