dj haamphist: back on the donkey

dj haamphist 020:

Back in the saddle after a few weeks off. I was doing some work at the computer last night, at long last, and I decided when I was done to snap on the keyboard and segue directly into some jams, why not? Listening to it now I think I've taken Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground, slowed it down, torn out the real funk and crapped on it. I did actually sit down maybe a week or so ago to recreate a casino experience I had and it went terribly awry. Things don't ever go according to plan when I sit down to something specific but I feel drawn to this casino one.

I am humbled by the stuff coming out of this website lately.

haha... well, i think you're being pretty rough on yourself with the Stevie Wonder comparison. :)

Sounds to me like some sort of dark, post-apocalyptic film noir or something. I can imagine a 23rd century cowboy moseying down a dark urban alley lit dimly by a neon glow from above. Cool shit..

Dude, nice background. The first guitar pluck really does give it a western feel doesn't it?
